What is the Kohi Click Test?
The Kohi Click Test gets its name from the historically famous Minecraft factions PvP server 'Kohi'. It popularized the extreme importance of CPS in PvP.
Though the original server closed, the term remains. It is the ultimate warmup for servers like Hypixel to ensure optimal 'Reach' and 'Knockback' advantage over opponents.
Favorite PvP Player Techniques
To dominate players generally use one of three methods:
| Clicking Method | PvP Advantages | Average Score |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Click | Best aiming precision. Less muscle fatigue. | 6 - 9 CPS |
| Jitter Click | Excellent constant CPS. Easy combos. | 10 - 14 CPS |
| Butterfly Click | Highest CPS without glitching. | 15 - 20+ CPS |
The history of the Kohi server and its influence on Minecraft PvP
The Kohi server was one of the most competitive Minecraft PvP servers in gaming history. Launched in 2013, it became the gold standard for combat in version 1.7/1.8 where the combat system directly rewarded click speed. The faster you clicked, the more you hit the opponent and the more knockback you inflicted on them.
Although the original server merged with Badlion in 2017, the term "Kohi" has stuck in Minecraft PvP culture. Today, servers like Hypixel, Minemen Club, Lunar Network and PvP Land continue the Kohi spirit with the same CPS-based combat system.
What CPS do you need to dominate in Minecraft PvP?
The optimal CPS depends on your battle strategy and the server you are playing on. Here is a guide based on thousands of analyzed games:
6-8 CPS (Normal Click) — Enough for casual combat in survival mode. You will be able to defend yourself but a player with 12+ CPS will systematically dominate you in Combo.
How to Train Effectively for Minecraft PvP
CPS is only part of the equation. Elite players combine several skills:
1. Click Speed—Practice here on the Kohi Click Test in 10-second mode. Aim for a stable score, not a one-time record. A player with a stable 11 CPS beats a player with peaks at 15 CPS but averages at 8.
4. Moves (Strafing) — W-tap, S-tap, and side strafing are essential for maximizing Combos. Combine them with good CPS to become unbeatable in 1v1.
